Calico Ghost Town


Calico now know as Calico Ghost Town was founded in March 1881 is one of the few remaining original mining towns of the western United States.
Calico was restored in 1951 by Walter Knott founder of Knott's Berry Farm and it was donated by him to San Bernardino County on 1966.



Calico is a small old west mining town great for someone that loves adventures and is fascinated to learn about the past, how people worked, how people lived and if you like to walk this is a good opportunity to do it; check out some shops buy some souvenirs from the town as well as dine.
You will learn about silver mines plus many things more.





When taking the underground tour you will have the opportunity to ride the train and enjoy more excitement!
If you appreciate old towns you absolutely will love Calico therefore the pictures you can get from this wonderful place. This town will change your routine from the daily life and you will love its unusual scenarios.


Three of Calico's Annual Events: Off course they have other events over the year this are just three that i thought are the most popular.



Happy Halloween Experience at Calico Ghost Haunt: Calico has a special annual event starting on October 23-25 and again October 29-31. You will find ghost, skeletons and dead miners, also there is costume contests, pumpkin carving, ghost stories, trick of treating and much more this will be a spectacular day full of surprises, thrills and terror.


Calico's Days : During October 8, 9, 10 2010 Calico has its 1880's mining celebration great occasion to come, relax and learn about its interesting story, not only that but be a part of Calico's old days.

New Years at Calico: New Years old west style celebration starting January 01-03 2010 if you want something different come join Calico New Year's celebration with live music dancing even gambling demonstrations.



Old Calico is open daily. Hours are 8:00 am. to dusk, with shops and attractions open from 9:00 am. to 5:00 pm, but there are some exceptions for more information on hours of operation, special events and attractions visit their page at calicotown.com, they also have camping available with full and partial hookups even cabins for longer stays. Calico has small fees for different attractions, admission fee depends on the day you go, for regular days the entrance fees as of today are as follows: Adults $6.00/Children 6-15 $3.00/5 under free.
